SUNDAY - MARCH 6TH

Diary posts are written the night before with the projected conditions. Updates will be added the following morning if conditions or grooming plans change.

Sunday 3/6/22

Morning Update: It looks like we avoided most of the icing with only a handful of sprinkles falling early this morning and temperatures remaining closer to freezing than expected. We added on Tripoli Road last night since things were looking nice out there. All trails marked groomed on the conditions page were groomed overnight, everything else is skiing on the previous groom. The snow should be quite soft except in high traffic areas that may have a slick granular but with give to the surface. Thin spots will likely start to expand as the day progresses, especially on the South End but we should hold on to solid conditions through the day.

Second Update: Rain has begun and is causing some place to ice up, please use caution out there. The North End where we groomed last night should be the best bet for the remainder of the day.

Overnight we’ll be doing a partial groom on the North End, check the conditions page for what we’re hitting. The skiing may be quite good for the morning if we don’t see too much freezing rain/sleet. If there is any slickness out there it should fade by afternoon once the day warms up. Additional grooming in the South End will depend on how the weather looks in the morning. Please use caution in the parking lots and roadways in the morning as they may be slick.

The good news in all this funky weather is we still quite a bit of snow out there and the base is rock solid underneath so we should come through this warm and wet stretch with a good bit of skiing intact.

Cheers,

Ian
