FOR KIDS & TEENS AGES 3-18


Seasonal Programs at Waterville Valley Resort are world-class and one-of-a-kind. Our certified instructors train with the same tight-knit group of kids all season-long, advancing their on-snow skills, fostering new friendships, and most importantly - creating a fun and immersive learning environment. Come spring, your little shredder will have developed a lifelong passion for the sport. We offer different programs geared toward specific age groups and within those groups, we might have different groups based on skill development and intensity level.

Must meet minimum age for programs by Dec. 1, 2026. Parents must fill out program specific forms including a Release of Liability on or before their first day of the program.

PROGRAMS FOR AGES 3-6


MOGUL MITES (AGE 3)

Mogul Mites is a youth seasonal program for 3-year-olds. Perfect for beginners or novice skiers who are in need of more basic instruction and are not at the lower intermediate skill level yet.

  • Features1-hour morning ski lesson and 1-hour afternoon ski lesson with playtime, lunch and snacks provided during breaks, and quiet time (if kids fall asleep during quiet time, we do not wake them for the lesson).

  • Located on the first floor of the Base Lodge (drop-off at 8:30am, pick-up at 3:00pm).

LIL’ GRIT (AGES 4-5)

Lil’ Grit is a seasonal program for 4–5 year old skiers with a focus on mountain safety, developing fundamental skills and lots of indoor & outdoor fun! Kids must be able to ski lower intermediate terrain, like Valley Run, on their own.

  • Features several weekends of ski lessons and play, including some days during Christmas holiday week and February vacation week (lift ticket and lunch not included).

  • Meet at the Junior Seasonal Building by Lower Meadows chairlift (drop-off at 8:30am, pick-up at 2:45pm).

KIDS KAMP EXPLORERS (AGES 4-6)

Seasonal Kids Kamp Explorers are for younger beginners, novice or lower intermediate skiers ages 4-6. Perfect for those little adventurers looking to develop a strong foundation of skills, explore the mountain, and have fun with their new skiing pals!

  • Features age-appropriate groups & activities with lunch and snacks provided during breaks, including some days during Christmas holiday week and February vacation week.

  • Meet at the Junior Seasonal Building by Lower Meadows chairlift (drop-off at 8:30am, pick-up at 2:45pm).

PROGRAMS FOR AGES 6-12


TRUE GRIT SKIER

True Grit Skier is a seasonal program designed for skiers ages 6–12 who are confident on lower-intermediate trails. Groups focus on honing the skills of being an all-mountain, all-condition skier. Drills and exercises compliment ever developing skills, while exploring as much of the mountain as those skills allow, including bumps, glades and an occasional run through our Nastar course. Multiple groups will be formed on the basis of age, ability & intensity.

  • Features several weekends of age-appropriate groups & activities including some days during Christmas holiday week and February vacation week (lift ticket and lunch not included).

  • Meet at the Junior Seasonal Building by Lower Meadows chairlift (drop-off at 8:30am, pick-up at 2:45pm).

TRUE GRIT SNOWBOARDER

True Grit Snowboarder is a seasonal program designed for snowboarders ages 6–12 who are confident on lower-intermediate trails. Groups focus on honing the skills of being an all-mountain, all-condition skier. Drills and exercises compliment ever developing skills, while exploring as much of the mountain as those skills allow, including bumps, glades and an occasional run through our Nastar course. PROGRAMS FOR AGES 9-14


RACE FOCUS

The Race Focus Program is a specialized group of skiers aged 9-14 who want to learn the fundamentals of ski racing along with all mountain skiing skills. Ski the glades, bumps, and NASTAR course when conditions allow. This is a high-level group for students who are comfortable skiing in control at speed in any condition!

  • Features several weekends of age-appropriate groups & activities including some days during Christmas holiday week and February vacation week (lift ticket and lunch not included).

  • Participants in this group must meet a minimum ability standard, purchase a NASTAR season pass, and participated in our True Grit ski program (or equivalent) or another competitive ski program is a prerequisite to enroll.

  • Meet at the Junior Seasonal Building by Lower Meadows chairlift (drop-off at 8:30am, pick-up at 2:45pm).

FREE RIDE

The Free Ride Program is a specialized group of skiers ages 9–14 who want to spend significant time developing freestyle skills, learning tricks, and progressing on terrain park features. This program is highly park-focused, with an emphasis on safely practicing and applying freestyle movements on jumps, rails, and other features. This is a high-level group for confident skiers who can ski in control at speed and in varied conditions (including in the woods and moguls)!

  • Features several weekends of age-appropriate groups & activities including some days during Christmas holiday week and February vacation week (lift ticket and lunch not included).

  • Participants in this group must meet a minimum ability standard, purchase a NASTAR season pass, and participated in our True Grit ski program (or equivalent) or another competitive ski program is a prerequisite to enroll.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS


S.E.E.D. PROGRAM (Ages 13-15)

The SEED program is designed for responsible teens ages 13-15 years to prepare them for working in the Snowsports industry. The Program will develop participants’ teamwork and job preparedness in a highly social, lively, and collaborative environment. This program will guide your teen for their first job at Waterville Valley while introducing them to the responsibilities and skills necessary to be a ski instructor at our resort.

  • Features several weekends of learning the skills needed to be a ski/snowboard instructor/coach while also exploring other on-mountain departments throughout Waterville Valley Resort. 

  • Meet at the Junior Seasonal Building by Lower Meadows chairlift (starting at 9:30am, ending at 12:00pm).

Y.A.P. PROGRAM (AGES 15-18)

The Young Adult Patrollers (YAP) Program is a hands-on opportunity for strong skiers and snowboarders ages 15–18 who are interested in learning what it takes to become a ski patroller! This program at Waterville Valley Resort provides real-world, on-the-job training alongside experienced professionals.

  • Participants gain experience marking on-mountain hazards with ropes and signage, assisting with guest services, supporting basic first aid calls, and learning proper toboggan handling for transporting injured guests.

TERMS & CONDITIONS


MEETING SCHEDULE

Weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) starting on December 12th, 2026 through March 21st, 2027 from 9:30am - 3:00pm.

  • Included: Dec. 26-30, Jan. 18, Feb. 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, and 26

  • Not Included: Dec. 22-25, Jan. 1, February 16, 17, 23, and 24

JUNIOR SEASONAL, KIDS KAMP, & SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

Lesson and playtime schedules vary based on your child’s group placement. Group 1: see schedule above. Group 2: 10-11am play time, 11am-12pm lesson,1pm-2pm play time, 2-3pm lesson. Please note that if a child falls asleep during quiet time we do not wake them for their afternoon lesson.

  • Ask the program supervisors for special seasonal participant price for days not offered under the seasonal price and dates. Program pricing does not include lift ticket or rental equipment.

  • Drop-Off Locations: Childcare:1st Floor of Base Lodge, Junior Seasonals & Kids Kamp: Junior Seasonal building, located near Lower Meadows.

  • Note: Must meet minimum age for programs by Dec. 1. Junior Seasonal & Kids Kamp Programs are refundable less a $250 cancellation fee until 6/30/26. Starting 7/1/26, all Junior Seasonal & Kids Kamp Programs are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of relocation, injury, or long illness, programs may roll over to the following season with approval.
