So You’re Saying There’s A Chance

We’ve been busy clearing a few down trees and evaluating the North End snow conditions. The r%$& storm on Friday did some damage, but we still have snow! Saturday night the groomers will head out there to grind up Lower Osceola and Tripoli Rd. The surface will be firm, but high moisture snow tends to have a certain silkiness to it after a few laps in the snowcat, so I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Given the shallow base, it is unlikely we will try to set any classic track. Lower Osceola is much thinner than Tripoli Rd itself, and as always, the further up you ski the better the conditions are.

If you’re a fat biker with studded tires, these next few days are going to be spectacular. Trails that were previously groomed but are not currently open to skiing should be firm, fast, and fun. The three f’s of success.

Looking ahead, our next chance to pick up some snow is on Tuesday. A few inches would allow us to reopen a good number of trails. So all is not lost, my friends.

Ski on,

Ian
