Friday Update
Things are looking really pretty out there. We laid down a fresh groom on just about everything. A-hill is skiing on yesterday’s groom, so hopefully that 100’ doesn’t break your heart. Unfortunately, Jennings Peak is just a touch too thin to open. If you choose to follow the fresh corduroy beyond the closed rope just know that the final hill is very dirty.
The increased solar energy as we roll towards spring is starting to have an impact on a few trails so keep an eye out for narrow spots where ditches are opening up on the side and water bars are sagging just a touch in the trail. Nothing to be too concerned about yet, we still have a lot of snow out there. A final note that in these freeze/thaw cycles, parking lots and trailhead access points can become very icy when the melt from the previous day freezes up overnight. Use caution moving on foot to and from the trails. I was a test dummy this morning and narrowly avoided a spill.
Have a blast,
Ian
