It’s time to pack your bags, and venture down Route 49 for a spectacular long weekend in the heart of the White Mountains.
Saturday, May 24th
Casting for Kirby Youth Fishing Derby
The Waterville Valley Recreation Department is hosting the Annual Casting for Kirby Youth Fishing Derby at Corcoran Pond. Head down to Town Square early as the Fishing Derby starts at 8:30am! Corcoran Pond will be freshly stocked with trout, with plenty of fish to catch. There will be an award ceremony at 11am, with over $1,000 worth of prizes to be awarded. The fun doesn’t stop there, with face painting, DIY t-shirts, and other kid-friendly activities throughout the morning!
Sunday, May 25th
35th Annual Chowderfest
The fun continues on Sunday, as Waterville Valley hosts its 35th Annual Chowderfest! Head to Town Square at noon as area restaurants vie for the coveted title of best local chowder! Guests can sample a wide variety of delicious chowders from favorites like Valley Pub, Jugtown Country Store, Valley Chop House, Kalki Indian Cuisine, and more. Admission fee ($7.50 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under) covers generous samples of chowder and a voting ballot. Tickets will be available at the event day-of!
Live Music in the Town Square
Performances all weekend long!
Head to the Town Square this Memorial Day Weekend and enjoy live music from the gazebo all weekend long! Performances will take place from 12–3 PM and 4–7 PM on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25. Refer to our Event Calendar to see who is performing when!
Monday, May 26TH
Animal Encounter Series: New Hampshire Wildlife
Our Memorial Day event lineup concludes with the return of the Animal Encounter Series! Starting at 10 a.m. on the lower level of Town Square, experts from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center will present live animals in an interactive and educational experience. Families of all ages can learn more about the wildlife in Waterville Valley’s backyard. This series will continue throughout the summer, with the series picking back up in July.
