Game Plan for 2/27 - 3/1

We’re in a full spring skiing cycle right now so it’s a good time to review what that means for conditions and give you a heads up on the plan for grooming for the week. Each night that is below freezing for a decent period should allow us to do at least a partial groom. We are usually working with a shortened window so we have to prioritize trails. Anything we don’t groom will typically soften by mid-day once the sun and warmth do their thing.

Tuesday 2/27: We’ll groom overnight on the Tripoli Rd side of the North End. The South End and the Livermore Rd side of the North End will not see a groom, but should soften quickly as the day heats up. Coverage on the South End may start to deteriorate a bit by afternoon.

Wednesday 2/28: We have some wet/warm weather headed our way so we’ll skip any grooming to help the trails come through the storm in better shape. The skiing should be a slushy/messy fun adventure if you’re into that kind of thing. I would stick to Lower Osceola and Tripoli Rd where the water is likely to drain a little better.

Thursday 2/29: Happy Leap Day! If we see some fresh snow on the backside of Wednesday’s storm then Thursday could actually be a fun classic skiing day. We will have to evaluate grooming based on how wet the trails are.

Friday 3/1: Cold overnight should allow us to get back out there and start resurfacing the trails early on Friday morning. Groomed kilometers may be limited depending on how good the coverage is and how hard the trails refreeze.

Hopefully that helps you plan your week. Just remember, any ski day is better than a day at work.

Cheers,

Ian
