Saturday

We still have a few more hours to get through the warmest part of the day, but I want to make sure everyone has a chance to review the game plan for Saturday and make their plans accordingly. The photo below shows Lower Osceola at 1pm on Friday. There is still decent coverage of slushy snow, which will need to freeze up for us to be able to groom. So we’ll have to wait until around 6 a.m. on Saturday to see if the snow froze enough to make grooming possible. If we are unable to groom, the trails may be a little fast at the beginning of the day but should soften up as the day warms up, with the only caveat being elevated winds that are capable of keeping the snow surface from fully softening. The good news is that the wind should also help pull moisture out of the snow and give us a better chance of being able to groom.

I know that was a lot of ifs, ands, and buts… so if you need a simplified telegram version:

snow still here, come ski if want to, condition possibly variable, expect update in morning

For a more fun update, the second photo shows a bear print found on the trails on Friday. So keep your eyes peeled and remember to always yield to wildlife, especially when it’s bigger than you.

Cheers,

Ian
