This morning's cool start won't last for long. By mid-day it's looking like it will be above freezing. Conditions have firmed up enough for decent skating this morning, but with the warm temps and fresh snow, classic is the way to go.
It a plain old glorious day out her yesterday, a few skiers had the place to themselves most of the day (first tracks on Cascade Brook weren't until 11:00 am).
Though a bit more cloudy today, I would expect more of the same. We are skiing on yesterdays day groom, conditions will be frozen this morning and soft by the afternoon.
Tomorrow and into tomorrow night will also be pretty warm, once again we will enjoy some spring skiing in January.
I've recommended hard waxes for today, though a klister might be needed for the afternoon. Before you put on the klister, come try out a skin ski--we have models from from Salomon, Atomic and Fischer (some available to try from our Demo department).
Today is our first Freeman Friday of the season. Join us at 4:00 for a 5km race. All levels welcome, $5 entry fee and if you come a little early we be doing a course preview and discussing race strategy and techniques. Do all 4 races and compare your times!
See you up here,
