Black Fly Triathlon Weekend July 10-12 Includes Little Bugger Youth
Triathlon
This
three day festival promises to be a fantastic weekend for
the whole family. Friday evening, hop on your bike and join in the 4 mile
bike time trial, finishing with a tough 1.5 mile climb up to the base of the
Waterville Valley Ski Area.

On Saturday, join the fray for the Black Fly
International Tri, a .5 mile swim, 21 mile bike, 5 mile run. On Sunday, is
the Black Fly Short Course Tri, with a .25 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3 mile
run.
Do one, or compete to be Lord of the Flies, and join in the 3-day stage race
with the scoring based on the fastest combined times for the Time Trial,
International, and Short Course triathlons. Of course, that's just the
adult racin'..the Black Fly Tri will also have the Little Bugger Youth
Triathlon, featuring a 50 yard swim, 2 mile bike, and .5 mile run, on
Saturday afternoon. All of the net proceeds will benefit the NH Make A Wish
Foundation. Saturday evening, the Black Fly Bash will be rockin' in Town
Square, with great food, beverages, live music from Paul Warnick, and
FIREWORKS over Corcoran's Pond. For the kids, a surprise visit from Curious

Learn to Skate at Waterville Valley Ice Arena This Summer
Magic Blades F.S.C. will be offering group figure skating lessons to skaters
ages 3 through adult on Monday evenings, July 6 through August 24 at
6:30-7:30, at the Waterville Valley Ice Arena.

States Figure Skating (USFS) Basic Skills Program. Classes consist of a 1/2

Waterville Valley Skate Camp (WVSC)
WVSC is getting ready to kick off its 7th year as the premiere overnight skate board camp in the East. Seven 5-night sessions are lined up for beginners to advanced skaters from June 28 - August 14.

Camps run Sunday night though Friday afternoon and each are sponsored by a different skate company including Oakley, Eastern Boarder, Volcom, Substance, Red Bull, Circa footwear, 5Boro, Emerica and es.
Six 2-day sessions also start up the weekend of July 3. There's even a day camp option. WV Skateboard Camp is open to skaters of all abilities, ages 12-18. Day campers must be at least 8 years old. Check out the new

Independence Day Parade
- The Waterville Valley Community gathers for a traditional Independence Day Parade. All are welcome to participate by lining the streets or by entering a float in the parade. Contact the Recreation Department to participate or to register a float, 236-4695.
