Waterville Valley Invests in Zaugg Pipe Monster
December 20, 2010Waterville Valley, NH, Dec. 20, 2010 … Waterville Valley has officially stepped up their terrain park game to the next level with the addition of an 18-foot Zaugg Pipe Monster. The Zaugg is bigger, longer and more powerful than other pipe cutters, allowing Waterville to build the pipe with 18-foot walls (versus 15-foot walls) and provide more transition for skiers and riders. On a daily basis, the Zaugg provides a more precise cut, another huge bonus for the terrain park crew responsible for maintaining the Superpipe.
According to Luke Mathison, Park Manager, "This is a very big step for the mountain and the commitment to the terrain parks here. In addition to the best machine for building and maintaining the pipe, we also have Snow Park Technologies coming out to build and cut the pipe for the first time. The Waterville crew will also be training on the new Zaugg to ensure the pipe stays consistent throughout the season.
Waterville Valley has a full line up of events in the Superpipe this season including:
2/6/2011 WV BBTS Open (Freeski)
2/13/11 USASA Superpipe (Freeski & Snowboard)
2/20/2011 The North Face Park and Pipe Series (Freeski)
