Not the First Time
January 09, 2012There have been winters like this before....
Though it's no consolation, many ski areas across the country are with out snow and unless they have snowmaking on site, have no open trails either.
I know we're all wanting to get out and ski--I've talked with many folks about where they may find a few Km open. At our Season Passholder's party, we talked a little about long-term plans for the Nordic Center. This winter is a reminder how important and key snowmaking is to cross country skiing. We will continue to pursue this option in the hopes that we don't have as dry of a winter!!
As for historically low snow January? There are almost three months left of our season in which snow can fall and we can enjoy the 70+ Km of our trail system.
Keep watching the weather and contact me if you're interested in group trail runs or guided hikes until we're covered with snow!
The Nordic Center is closed this week so, again, call if you need anything and we can get you set.
