The Yurt

The Yurt is located on the North End of our trail system, about 1 kilometer from the Depot Camp parking lot via Lower Oceola Trail to Bob's Lookout Trail. Bob's Lookout provides outstanding view of the peaks surrounding Waterville Valley: Osceola, Tecumseh and the Tripyramids. Bob's Lookout is part of the Osceola Vista campground (summer only) and has picnic tables and 'pit' toilet facilities. Our yurt is a modern adaptions of the ancient shelter used by nomadic tribesman of Mongolia and Central Asia. Their ingenious aerodynamic and weathertight design makes them excellent for snowy environments and they blend well with the surrounding landscape.

The Yurt is open daily for skiers and snowshoers to get out of the weather and enjoy a picnic lunch. Blue Moon Café offers fresh lunches for singles, couples and families ready and packed for your day. On select Saturdays and holidays we will have fresh fare and drinks for purchase at the yurt, which will also be heated during these times.
