Upgrade Your Nordic Skills and Have More Fun

Ski lessons are a specialty of Waterville Valley's Cross Country Ski Center. Start your day with a lesson in either skating or diagonal techniques available for all ability levels from our PSIA-certified teaching pros. Your instructor is a great guide to better skiing and to our world class trail system.

The Nordic Center is the place to start and end your ski day, with a warming beverage and a crackling fire, and the camaraderie of our staff and new found skiing friends. Our PSIA-Certified Nordic Ski School programs

In order to help you get the most from our expansive terrain, our Snowsports School is open weekends and Holidays offering a wide range of programs for all ages and disciplines - from skating to traditional striding. We may be able to offer lessons on week days by appointment only. Call 603-236-4666. Our PSIA certified instructors provide the kind of coaching that not only builds skills, it builds a strong foundation for the future of the sport.

If you don't have your own equipment, we've upgraded our rental and demo fleet, giving both adults and juniors better gear and expanded options.

• Learn to Nordic Ski: Learn how to cross-country ski in a friendly group setting. If you've never savored the Nordic experience, we can help you get started, with Group (3 or more) Starter Kit packages that include lessons, rentals, and trail fees for only $42. Even if you've been skiing for years, our instructors can show you how to ski more efficiently. We show you how to diagonal stride, how to climb and descend hills with confidence, even how to get up easily after a fall. You'll learn the basics required to truly enjoy your ski outing with a focus on fun.
  Offered only on weekends and holidays and by appointment only

• Skate Lessons: The skate technique has changed cross-country skiing. If you are athletic and you want to learn an exciting way to spend time outdoors this winter, skating on skis is for you! Particularly applicable to alpine skiers who want to "cross over" to add nordic skiing to round out their ski experience. Offered weekends and holidays by appointment only

• Nordic Kids: We also offer children’s programs on weekends that provide equipment rentals, trail fees, and a guided 1 ½ hr adventure. This popular program for kids aged 6-12 years old includes a hot chocolate break, games and a tour. Parents can take a group lesson at the same time (subject to availability), or just sit by the fire and relax. Offered weekends, holidays and Saturdays at 12:30 pm by advanced reservation only. $33 per person ($43 with rentals) 2 hours in duration. We can also arrange for special times and dates. Additionally, we have 3 week sessions in January, for 3-13 year olds, special rates available.

• Private Lessons: Available for all skill levels for those who feel that individual learning fits into their skiing plans. The hour is geared toward the skier's specific needs. Offered by advanced registration only. $35 per person (Not including trail pass and rentals. 1 hour in length. 

• Nordic Adaptive: We also offer Adaptive lessons for those athletes interested in Nordic. First timers and more experienced cross country skiers are all welcome!
