No one gets as good as they can be without help and guidance.  Whatever your age or ability level, you can become a better skier or rider.  Waterville Valley 's Snowsports School will help you get there because the quickest way to improve in anything is with the help of experts.  Often times having an expert perform and explain a skill is all it takes to have a major breakthrough. 

Families Get Together On the Slopes With Family “First Trails” and “Trail Along” Family Private at Waterville Valley

Learning to Ski or snowboard is truly a family affair at Waterville Valley this season. Two new snowsports packages bring the family together for fun on the ski slopes while leaving the teaching to the pros. “A trend we saw last winter was the growing number of families asking to be in the same ski or snowboard lesson instead of separating into different age groups”, explains Lisa Dutto, Snowsports Supervisor. “They want to share the experience. So we came up with these two family concepts to offer at Waterville. Hey, families that play together have fun together, right?”

New Video Private Sessions

Video private lessons will include on snow instruction to set up the technique to be taped, 3-4 on snow video segments of you and the instructor focusing on the targeted skill, indoor video viewing with analysis and your own copy of the video. Price for a 2 hour individual session is $235. A 2 hour semi-private session, up to 5 people, is $375. Video sessions without instruction and analysis are also available for 1 hour for $165. Private Lesson Includes Ski Demos from Sport Thoma

For a limited time, when you book an adult private lesson, you can also get a free ski demo from Sport Thoma for your entire lesson. Sign up is at the snowsports desk or you can call ahead to 603-236-8311 X 3136.

Family “First Trails”

Families can enjoy learning a new sport and sharing their first experience on snow together with Family “First Trails”. It’s designed for parents and children ages 7-12 who have never skied or snowboarded before. The package includes rental equipment and a learning area lift ticket for the day and a 2-hour beginner lesson served up family style.

The cost is $400 for up to 4 family members and $80 per additional family member.

“Trail Along” Family Private

This family private lesson is designed for parents who want to take part in their kid’s learning and snow time. The one hour private lesson allows parents to trail along with their child and instructor and receive valuable information on how to safely navigate and learn on the mountain. The “Trail Along” Family Private is most appropriate for families with children ages 4-8.

The cost is $129 for lessons in peak times (10 am – Noon ) and $105 if taken out of peak times.
