Cell Phone Snow Alerts

HOW IT WORKS:

cellphone If you have a cell phone, rubberSNOW is a service you can use to receive accurate snow conditions simply without having to wait for the radio report, busy phone lines or booting-up a computer. It's all there waiting for you as you want it. Here's how it works:
  1. You sign up by customizing the reports, time, snow amount criteria & ski areas you want to receive. (report descriptions below)
  2. Your cell phone receives only filtered reports that match your personalized profile.
  3. No snow, No messages and never any Wham (Wireless Spam)

When you sign up you have the ability to choose from over 15 million possible report combinations.  No bells or whistles, just a customized text snow reports sent directly to your cell phone.

REPORTS:

New Snow Report -- Get a text alert in the morning when new snow has fallen at any of the mountains you have chosen.  Sample: Waterville Valley: PDR, new:11", base:48-56" ot: 100% lo:5/6.  New Snow Alert includes:

* surface conditions
* average base depth (base)
* 24 hour snowfall (new snow)

* open terrain (ot)
* lifts operating (lo)
 

Weekend Conditions (called the Thursday report) --  Every Thursday you will receive a separate text alert for each mountain you have chosen. Sample: Waterville Valley: WETSN, base:48-56" ot: 100% lo:9/16. sm: 60%. New Snow Alert includes:

* surface conditions
* average base depth (base)
* 24 hour snowfall (new snow)

* open terrain (ot)
* lifts operating (lo)
* snowmaking (sm)

EXTREMELY CUSTOMIZED:

Sign up for the information you want, so that you're in control of the content you receive.  All messages sent to you are personalized to your liking.

Location - Indicate which ski areas you want to receive conditions for.  We have added nearly 500 locations in the United States and Canada.

Time - Indicate what time of the morning you want each message sent.  For example, you want to receive New Snow Alerts at at 7am, but the Weekend Report at 6pm.

New Snow Amount - You can choose how much new snow drops before you get a text message.  For example, In November, you want to receive new alerts only when mountains receive over 5 inches of new snow, but in January you change that to 8 inches.  -- NEW FOR 2004
