Grooming and Appearance Standards

We take pride in presenting a positive image to our guests. Hairstyles must be neatly trimmed and groomed and clean at all times. Hair length on males may not go below the shoulder. Hair must be neat and of a natural color (no purple, green, orange, pink, blue, etc.). Beards and goatees must be neatly trimmed, with mustaches no longer than the corners of the mouth and sideburns no longer than the bottom of the ears. Extreme hairstyles and colors will not be allowed.

If required, an appropriate uniform will be provided. In cases where employees are not required to wear a company uniform, they are expected to dress appropriately for the job performed. Damaged, torn, soiled or worn-out clothing is not acceptable. Blue jeans are not allowed when working with or around the guest, or in any administrative or office areas. Blue jeans may be worn only when working construction, summer mountain maintenance or in a “non-uniformed” maintenance area. Only Booth Creek, Waterville Valley Resort, company sponsored or vendor logo wear is acceptable. Extreme and/or offensive clothing items are not permitted. You are responsible for keeping uniform/clothing clean and wrinkle-free.

In order to continue meaningful interactions with our guests, wearing your nametag at all times is required while on duty. Lost nametags should be reported as soon as practicable to your supervisor to ensure replacement. Nametags and/or uniforms are not to be worn while off-duty.

Skirts/Skorts - Length should not be above 3” from the top of the knee. Shorts are acceptable attire when the ski area is not in operation. Length may not be more than 3” above the top of the knee.

Jewelry must be in good taste and not excessive. For safety reasons, jewelry should be removed when working around machinery. Earrings and/or other forms of body piercings may be permitted, with limitations. Only studs and small hoops are allowed, and, an excessive number of piercings may be distracting to our guests. You may be asked to remove them while at work. Your supervisor will determine specific standards within their department.

If you have a tattoo, it (they) must be covered while on duty.
