$4800 Raised for B4BC

b4bc-2Here at Waterville Valley we are down for the cause. On Superbowl Sunday February 3rd we hosted a day long Pink Rail Jam and Pink Raffle to benefit the Boarding for Breast Cancer Foundation ( B4BC ). Their focus is to educate young women about the significance of early breast cancer detection and the importance of an active lifestyle.  The amount of support and overall cash raised was staggering! A total of 8 snowboards, 3 pairs of skis and some of the finest outerwear were up for grabs in the raffle. The grand prize however was the head to toe Burton outfit of Olympic Gold medal winner Hanna Teter. Complete with pants, jacket, B4BC helmet, B4BC Anon goggles with Hanna’s autograph scribed inside the jacket.  With much love from our sponsors the Pink Rail Jam, and the Ultimate Women’s Pink Raffle raised almost $2800!

Back in the offices, employees at Waterville Valley supported the cause by pledging an hour or more of their day to go to B4BC.  The total contribution from nearly 100 employees was almost $2000, bringing the weekend total to $4800 dollars raised for B4BC.

Since breast cancer doesn’t discriminate the Pink Rail Jam had everyone shredding together, free skiers and snowboarders slaying the pink course all day long. During the first 30-minute jam 20 pink passes to the final jam were handed out. The final 30-minute jam was impressive. The skiers annihilated the down rail and Skullcandy signature half rainbow box. The snowboarders hammered both down rails with nose presses and backside lip slides. When it came time to pick who were the standouts the judges had their hands full. Here’s how it shook out:
