Top Nordic Picks for 2010 at Waterville Valley
Waterville Valley, NH, January 4, 2010 ... The 2010 Winter at the Nordic Center starts with an Olympic send off for Kris Freeman who calls Waterville Valley his home training site. You don't have to be an aspiring Olympic athlete to enjoy its 75 kilometers of groomed trails and the Waterville Valley Nordic Center welcomes all ability levels with a variety of events, starter kits and added value days.
1. Online Reward for Early Birds: Save $2 on Waterville Valley Nordic trail passes, seven days a week, all season. This deal is for anyone purchasing a daily lift ticket online 48 hours in advance at waterville.com. There is no additional fine print.
2. Two Fer Thursdays: Buy 1 all day Nordic trail pass and get one free. Valid any non-holiday Thursday.
3. After Two Next Day Too: Buy a Nordic trail pass for the following day and cross country ski free after 2:00 pm.
4. $99 Midweek Season Pass: Ski any midweek day, non-holiday periods. Also valid any day prior to Dec. 24 and after March 20, 2010. Can be purchased at any time on waterville.com.
5. Silver Streak Nordic Wednesdays: For Nordic skiers over 50, held every non-holiday Wednesday. The cost is $65 for the season not including a Nordic season pass (see above $99 deal). The cost is $130 with Nordic rentals included. You an also join the group for the day at the daily Silver Streak Nordic rate of $10 per person, $20 with cross country rentals.
6. Midweek Town Square Nordic Getaway from $99 pp/do Includes Dinner: This season's Nordic Ski and Stay Package includes lodging Sunday-Thursday night in a one bedroom Waterville Valley condo, a Nordic trail pass and Nordic rental equipment, access to the White Mountain Athletic Club and a $50 dinner voucher to use at your choice of Town Square restaurants. Offered January-March 2010 excluding 1/17-18, 2/14-10/10. Lodging is Sunday-Thursday nights.
7. Nordic Starter Kit: $42 includes a one hour Nordic ski lesson, Nordic rental equipment and a trail pass for the day. $34 for juniors/seniors. A Skate Starter Kit includes a trail pass, 1 hour lesson & rentals for $46, $37 for juniors and seniors.
8. Telemark Rentals: Try a new sport for 2010. Telemark rentals (skis, boots and poles) are offered at the Nordic Center for $32 for a full day. The cost is $29 for your or seniors.
9. Guided Ski and Snowshoe Tours: 1.5 hour trips are designed to access destinations with outstanding scenic views and include informative content on fitness, clothing and equipment while exploring our unique NH natural history, forest ecology and wildlife. Offered Saturdays at 12:30 p.m., from January - March, $55 per person includes Nordic ski rentals, trail pass, and guided tour. $35 per person includes snowshoe rentals and guided tour.
10. Kid Power Saturdays and Holidays at 12:00 pm: Special kids programs that run 1 1/2 hrs on Saturdays and Holidays at 12:30 $33 w/o rentals $43w/ rentals This popular program for kids aged 6-12 years old includes a hot chocolate break, games and a Nordic tour. Parents can take a group lesson at the same time, or their own tour, or just sit by the fire and relax. Cost is $33 per person, $43 with rentals. Reservations are required by calling 603-236-4666.
