Team Waterville Tuesdays Race League Starts Jan. 6

Join the fun of recreational racing that is as competitive as you want it to be. Plus great local apres parties. Team Waterville league racing is held for 9 weeks and kicks off January 6th. There is a $20 Tuesday race day lift ticket offered to registered Team Waterville participants, valid only on Team Waterville race days and is non-transferable.

Teams consist of 7 co-ed racers and a Nastar-style handicap system ranks all the day's racers and awards scores to the teams via teams best 5 racers of the day. The course and format changes each week, with GS, duel, short and long courses, plus at least one slalom format. Individual times are also recorded and posted. Races are between 12:30 and 2:30. Cost for a team of 7 is $250, Cost for an individual is $40 (Individuals will be grouped into a team if needed).

At 4:00 on race day Tuesdays there is an Après race party at local establishments sponsored by Coors Light. Specials and light fare are offered. Team race results and individual race results are posted during the Après race parties. Prizes and raffles are also offered by Coors Light and local establishments. Challenge friends to a NASTAR Race

Recreational racing is for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. To add to the fun, family and friends, ski shops and ski clubs can race against each other! Located on Lower Utter Abandon, the course is open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 12 pm. Registration is on the first floor of the base lodge from 10am-12pm or you can sign up at the starting gate once racing is underway. Participants who score within an appropriate percent of the pacesetter time will win a platinum, gold, silver or bronze medal, right at the finish. Costs and info is right here.

New 5 Cups of Cocoa Card

This was a special request by a father who wanted to be sure his kids could get cocoa when they were out skiing on their own! The Cocoa 5 Cup Card costs $12 for 5 small cocoas at Sunnyside Timberlodge, Schwendi Hutte and the main base lodge cafeteria. It can be purchased online here or at the Season Pass office. It expires on closing day of this season.
