It's the weekend and there's skiing, it's a great combo. We have a couple more chilly days in the forecast, come prepared--layers and outwear do make a difference, so does some grease on your face : )
All open trails are groomed for skate and classic, it's beautiful up here, for real. The trails are firm!
On the North End, we've opened Beanbender & Swazeytown. The backside of Cascade should be open tomorrow. On the South End coverage is good, but again, please use care and ski UP Lower Fletchers (counter clockwise from Pond Loop) to make the best navigation of a few waterbars. The outer loop down here is great. Don't miss skiing the South End this early in the season. We'll be packing Jennings and Upper Criterion and may be able to get them open next week, stay tuned.
All designated fat bike trails are open. As long as we don't get much snow this evening, tomorrow afternoon additional trails will open for fat biking, so if you want to ride more, tomorrow after 12:00 is a great time to do it.
See you up here,
Notes and Events:
Today is our first Nordic Kids of the season, bring your little one at 9:00 for beginners and 10:15 for intermediate kiddos. This season we will have a weekly youth fun race at 11:30 for all (participants or not).
The first of our Women's Clinics is scheduled for the following Saturday 1/14 9-4:30. This is a great way to get started with the sport or work with our advanced instructors to improve your technique. Grab a friend and spend the day with us. Two on-snow clinics are followed by yoga and a "Wine and Wax" clinic. Second Annual Swix Trunk Sale. Call to pre-register.
Also on 1/14 is Kris Freeman's Advanced Skate Clinic 10:00-11:30. These clinics are for intermediate and up. You don't have to keep up with Kris, but you do need to be able to ski. His clinics are a fantastic place to learn what Kris does and what you can do to move better and faster.
1/14 Salomon, Atomic and Fischer Ski Demo 9-3pm. Try before you buy. Try just because new skis are fun
