Good Morning and brrrr!
It's felt like spring for too long if single digits feel this chilly. This morning is quite cool, by mid day we should be into the upper teens and we're still expecting a bit of snow tonight and tomorrow morning.
Today the snow is still a funky kind of dry, sugary corn snow--like loose spring mush in places, except no moisture (talked about it plenty yesterday... it's like coarse sand)--it has firmed up significantly this this morning though. Anyway, it will make for some tough waxing today, I feel for of all you kids, parents & coaches, trying to pick the wax of the day for today's race!
You'll need a binder, the tracks aren't really icy, but there is definitely some ice in there. KX20, perhaps with a hard wax over as we had a nice dusting yesterday and it didn't transform much.
For those of you not racing (like me) today is skin ski day--don't forget, we have them to try and all our Atomic & Salomon classic skis are 30% off (yet again a shameless plug).
Also, for those of you not racing, we will be grooming and closing the race course by mid-day. You can still access the south end via Village, Inner Mad & Swans but plan on skiing the North End by the afternoon and then come watch the races. First race starts at 2:30..
See you up here,
