The Last couple days of January

It's like yesterday, but maybe better. A bit cooler and a bit faster. The inch or so of snow that fell on yesterday's groom worked in nice. Good enough to still use a hard kick wax.

All open trails are groomed for skate and classic. Most trails have double track and some of the narrow ones just single so plenty of track for you classic skiers out there.

This has been such an interesting season. It's felt like spring skiing all month: Warm weather, super variable temps and way more people starting up, or checking out, classic skiing again-- back to basics (high-tech version). It is the original way to get around on groomed and ungroomed trails, afterall. If you're a skater, check it out on a powder day or a soft snow day, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Can't wait to see what February brings!

And for you fat bikers, yes, trails are firm enough. We have 14 bikes for rent and sale, come play. If you have your own bike and want to ride our trails, stop in to the Center for a trail pass and for info on where to ride. Today additional trails are open for fat biking in the afternoon.

See you up here,
