It's chilly and gusty up here today, the wind is bringing in cold temps which combined will be great for our trails. The last two day's of warm temps made for soft conditions and it will be good to firm things up for the expected (yes, please!), snowfall next week.
We did get a dusting overnight and we're expecting flurries most of the day. Due to the yesterday's soft snow, expect skiing first thing this morning to be a bit bumpy. The snowmobile will be out all morning making it pretty and more enjoyable skiing.
Depending on what the day and afternoon bring, we are still hoping to have the Cat out to set some track on Tripoli, but it is likely we will have to wait for the next snowfall to do this. Snowmobile grooming makes good skate lanes and there are classic tracks set by skiers on the sides of most trails, so bundle up today and for the weekend and come ski!
Fat biking on Village, Connector, Greeley Path, Deep Woods and Livermore (to jct 65), is good for today. If you don't have one of your own, our rental fleet is full. We have new & used fat bikes for sale, with just ONE left at $550, make it yours! Fat bikes are pretty fun (a lot like riding a bike), they're stable, mellow and can get you just about over anything.
This year there are a few changes to the website. You can still view our events on the google calendar, and on the event calendar. We are also using TrailHub.org for our trail conditions. You can still use our website to see conditions but now you can use the TrailHub mobile app to get conditions updates and you can "favorite" trails, and get notifications when they've been opened, groomed or have notes added about them.
Also, join us at the end of the month for our Season Pass Holder Party, Friday 12/30 from 5pm-7pm. Refreshments, entertainment and a raffle are planned, so don't miss it. Our Swix Wax Tech will be here for the wax clinic at 6:00.
See you up here,
