It's warm. Yup, warm. And the precip last night and this morning has made the trails slick, so use care. Thankfully it will be cooling off and the forecast is still looking good for snow on Thursday!
All open North End trails were groomed last night before the freezing rain and before the temperatures went up too much, but trail conditions are soft and crunchy (Cascade will go during the next groom--for those of you who can't wait to ski it).
All South End trails will be skiing on yesterday's groom, though we will be out with the snowmobile, grooming as possible.
So, this morning ski classic--please! it will be way better for you and the trails. Either layer on a bit of klister, bring out your new (or old) skin skis or take out your dependable waxless touring skis.
The trails will be too soft for biking until later this afternoon. Call or come in to confirm that the trails firmed up as the temps dropped.
We will be watching the temps and moisture content of the snow closely and get out and groom again as soon as we can-probably late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Expect a the groom to continue into the day as we work to get to all the trails.
Selection of gear is good, but already moving fast. Pass holders, take advantage of your pass discount and for the rest of you, don't forget. Full ski packages are 20% off and we have a handful of closeouts on gear and clothing that just might work for anyone!
See you up here,
