Denali Challenge

Within the mountains that surround Waterville Valley exist a number of New England's highest peaks. The Denali Challenge is to hike five of these peaks in one weekend. The ultimate challenge is to hike the five peaks equaling 20,000 feet (Denali is at 20,328') claiming the title "Alive after five". This year, hikers will be able to choose from a number of different peaks for the five mountains they will climb. Participation in the weekend is free and everyone is welcome. Whether you're an experienced hiker looking to master all five peaks, or just looking to join the fun, there is something to fit all abilities and ages. Pre-registration is recommended but not required. Please e-mail jcobbett@waterville.com to pre-register.

Registration is from 6-8PM in the Town Square next to the info booth. Hikers will receive a welcome goody bag and hiker card.

Saturday
10am Family Hike to Cascades-meet at the Info Booth in Town Square. Transportation is provided. Hikers bag 2 or 3 peaks.

Sunday
10am Family Hike to Goodrich Rock-meet at the Info Booth in Town Square. Transportation is provided.

Hikers finish 5 peaks and turn in finished cards at the Info Booth in Town Square.

Celebrate your Easter Holiday with us at Waterville Valley Resort! On Saturday, March 31st join the Waterville Valley Recreation Department in Town Square for an amazing Egg Hunt open to ages 11 and under! Then head uphill on Sunday April 1st for a Sunrise Service on the mountain, free morning skiing, easter egg hunts, and brunch!

Town Square Saturday, March 31st :
9am- Register for the WV Rec. Dept. Easter Egg Hunt Held in Town Square
Open to ages 11 and under $5 per child.

Easter Sunday, April 1st:
Start off Easter morning with a non-denominational Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at the top of Mt. Tecumseh. Take a ride on the White Peaks Express Chair starting at 5:30am and join in a service surrounded by the White Mountains starting at 6:00am. Free skiing and riding will follow the event until 7:45am. (Beginning at 8:00am a valid day ticket or Season Pass is required for trail and lift access)
Then, kiddos aged 12 and under can head downhill to the lower mountain for the Waterville Valley Resort Easter Egg Challenge. The first 100 participants to register, 12 and under, will search for hidden eggs on the lower mountain. There will be some golden tickets in each location that will be redeemed for larger prizes! Make sure to register between 8:00 and 9:00 am on the second floor of the base lodge.

Kids 9–12 years old will hunt for eggs on Leroy's Loop starrting at 9am.
Kids 8 and under will hunt for eggs on the Pasture (J-Bar) starting at 9am.

Santa Arrives by Dogsled

Santa and his elves ride into Waterville Valley pulled by a team of sled dogs from The Valley Snowdogz. Santa will arrive in Town Square at 3:30 bearing gifts and candy for each child who comes to visit. Parents are welcome to take photos of their children with Santa. Hot cocoa and cookies will be on hand, and a raffle will be held for an assortment of prizes donated by Waterville Valley area businesses. Suggested donation, from those who are able, of $5 per child/$10 per family will be gratefully accepted. All proceeds will be donated to the Whole Village Family Resource Center.

The Tree lighting ceremony is at 7:00 pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Corcoran Pond. Enjoy winter ambiance in our village, gathering with your family by the outdoor fireplace or partaking of holiday hospitality in one of our cozy shops.

5th Annual Cold Turkey Plunge

Come help us celebrate the start of the Holiday Season in Waterville Valley and raise funds to support our Athletic Programs for persons with disabilities. Organize a team of family and friends or join our team of volunteers and “Plunge Cold Turkey” into Corcoran Pond at 1:00pm on November 25th.

Each Turkey is required to raise a minimum of $50
Plungers are rewarded with a WVAS Bracelet, a 2017 Plunge Long Sleeve T-shirt, a free hour of Tubing at the WV Tubing Center and a tasty Cold Turkey Sandwich courtesy of Chef Sean Stout and the Coyote Grille. 

Additional Premium Incentives awarded for reaching other fundraising benchmarks. Prizes for Teams and Individuals in various categories including Best Costume (Costumes Optional)

VIP’s (Very Important Plungers) will be pampered in return for an individual donation of $250 or more in a heated viewing stand with Irish Coffee. Designated Plungers will dip on their behalf!

Back for its sixth year, this festival provides stories for people of every age.  Storytellers bring an exciting festival program to the Valley which includes Friday night ghost stories, programs for kids, families, and adults all day on Saturday, and sacred tales on Sunday morning.

Costs are:
Saturday, daytime single event: $5 adult / $2 under 12
Saturday, daytime only: $15 adult
Saturday, evening concert: $10 all ages
Full festival: $25 non-NHSA member / $20 NHSA member
Full Festival Adult tickets can be accompanied by up to 4 children under 12 free!

Featured Teller - Simon Brooks
Simon Brooks, storyteller Born in Gloucestershire, England, and raised in Worcester, England, Simon moved to the United States in 1994. He has lived in Portland, Oregon; Boston, Massachusetts; and in New Hampshire.
Simon’s work as a storyteller and voice actor has won honors from Storytelling World and Parent's Choice, including the latter's prestigious Gold Award for his CDs. Simon is also an accomplished photographer as well as a published writer and poet. Simon tells folk tales, myths and legends for both adult audiences and for young people. He tells fairy tales and, on the odd occasion, personal stories too.
Simon can be found performing at festivals and concerts. He works in all communities, telling tales and teaching every demographic from 'at-risk' communities, to ivy league institutes, and all points between.

Can you think of any conflicts wildlife have with people? The public image of some animals is often inaccurate and can result in negative attitudes. "50 Years of Firsts" Documentary Screening & Music at the Last Chair

Join Waterville Valley Resort as we head downhill to The Last Chair Restaurant in Plymouth for a screening of the Documentary Film, "50 Years of Firsts".  Then the Sweet Bloods Band will continue the party with live music from 7-9.  Enjoy a wood-fired slice, a cool brew from Sublime Brewing Company or 603 Waterville Wheat, and jam out to some rocking tunes as we continue to ring out our 50th season at a local favorite hotspot!  Admission to the screening is FREE and all are welcome!

Winter Fest Craft Fair in Town Square

Winter Fest Craft Fair will include several local crafters and vendors. We will have acoustic music from local artist. We will have raffles throughout the day; all raffle proceeds will be donated to the Bridge House in Plymouth, NH which goes to house Veterans. The Craft Fair be inside at the Town Square in the Penalty Box on the second floor. Each table will have a fun game that all ages can play.
